Privacy notice

Who we are

LDP is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. That means we decide why and how it is used.

We have not appointed a data protection officer. We are not required to.

What we collect

Only what you give us, and a small amount your browser gives us automatically.

• When you complete an enquiry form — your name, email address, telephone number, country, the investment budget you select, the postcode you prefer, and whatever you write in the box marked “your brief”.
• When you request the market report — your name, email address, telephone number, country, budget and preferred postcode.
• When you message us on WhatsApp — your telephone number, the name shown on your WhatsApp account, and the contents of the conversation.
• When you telephone us — your number and what is discussed. We do not record calls.
• Automatically — our hosting provider logs the IP address, browser type and pages requested for every visit, which is how the site is kept running and defended against attack.

We do not ask for, and do not want, special category data — anything revealing health, ethnicity, religion, politics, trade union membership, sex life or biometrics. Please do not send it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We rely on two lawful bases under Article 6(1) of the UK GDPR:

• Legitimate interests — Article 6(1)(f). When you make an enquiry, we use your details to answer it, to understand what you are looking for, and to tell you about opportunities that fit the brief you gave us. Our legitimate interest is running a business that responds to the people who approach it. We have weighed this against your interests: you initiated the contact, the data is ordinary business contact information, we asked for nothing we do not need, and you can object at any time. That is why we consider this basis appropriate.
• Consent — Article 6(1)(a), and regulations 22 and 6 of PECR. If you ask us to send you the market report, or agree to receive later editions, we send them on the strength of that consent. You can withdraw it at any time and we will stop.

We also keep server logs to operate and secure the website. That is a legitimate interest too, and no attempt is made to identify individual visitors from them.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not trade, rent or broker it. We do not build profiles for advertising, and we do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this website. Your name is not circulated to vendors, buyers or third parties as a matter of course, and where an introduction would require it, we ask you first.

Who else sees it

• Our own people — the asset manager handling your enquiry and those supporting them.
• Our hosting provider, which serves this website and holds the server logs.
• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited), if you choose to contact us that way. Meta handles those messages under its own terms and its own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
• Our email and telephony providers, in the ordinary course of receiving and replying to you.
• Professional advisers, or a regulator or court, where the law requires it of us.

Transfers outside the United Kingdom

Some of the suppliers above are based in, or route data through, the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK it is protected either by UK adequacy regulations, or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, together with the additional safeguards those instruments require. Ask us and we will tell you which applies and provide a copy.

How long we keep it

We have not set a single fixed period, because how long we need your details depends on what happens next. We apply these criteria:

• An enquiry that goes nowhere — kept while there is a realistic prospect of it resuming, and reviewed periodically after that.
• An enquiry that becomes a relationship — kept for as long as the relationship lasts, and then for as long as we could still face a claim arising from it.
• Report subscribers — kept until you unsubscribe or stop engaging.
• Anything we are required by law to retain — kept for the period the law specifies, and no longer.
• Server logs — kept for a short period for security purposes.

When we no longer need it, we delete it.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• be told how your data is used — which is what this notice is for;
• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete;
• have it erased in the circumstances the law allows;
• restrict how we use it while a question about it is resolved;
• receive it in a portable form, or have it sent to someone else, where that right applies;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on consent. Withdrawing it does not affect anything done beforehand.

Your right to object

You have the right to object at any time to our use of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests — including using it to tell you about opportunities. If you object, we will stop unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or we need the data to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If you object to direct marketing, we will stop — without exception and without asking why. Tell us by telephone, by replying to any message, or through the form.

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not profile you. Every enquiry is read and answered by a person.

Do you have to give us anything?

No. There is no statutory or contractual requirement to give us any personal data, and nothing on this website obliges you to. If you would rather not complete a form, telephone us instead. If you give us less, the only consequence is that we may not be able to match you to anything useful.

Cookies and what this site stores

This website sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. It stores two small technical values in your own browser: one that remembers you have already seen the opening animation so it does not replay during your visit, and one that lets the site tell you what has changed on the register since you last looked. Neither identifies you, neither is sent to us, and both can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, tell us first — we would rather put it right ourselves, and we are required to take your complaint seriously.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection. You can do that whether or not you come to us first.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal data, we will change this notice and update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you directly.
